Indonesian history has positioned Kartini as a symbol of strength, brilliance, and also, as a true catalyst that has changed how women communicate and interact within the community at large. Kartini’s influence has paved the way for women’s today to played a more active role in any field. This influence has reflected within the public relations industry in Indonesia, in which women can share their aspiration freely and becomes the advocates in strategic issues within the community.

Echoing to the spirit, Asmoro Wikan, the CEO and founder of PR Indonesia admitted that more women have been showcasing their public relations competence and influence in the strategic management functions. In recognition of this, PR Indonesia instituted the Kartini PR Award, a significant platform to acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of women as public relations practitioners who have been inspirational to the development of the industry.

Sari Soegondo, one of the founders of ID COMM, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to be included as one of the Top 50 Kartini Public Relations figures in Indonesia. She realized that this achievement was accompanied by an awareness that the role of PR professionals has created impact to achieving various strategic initiatives. Sari added that this award event has brought a good opportunity to gather inspirational women who have invested their time, investing time, knowledge, and skills to advance public relations in Indonesia.
