Amid their own endeavours in 2014, Sari Soegondo and Asti Putri made a bold decision to embark on a new path by founding PT. Indo Dharma Komunika or popularly known as ID COMM.
True to its name, the communication and public relations firm was established to serve as a home for professionals to help clients in establishing mutual relationships with diverse groups in Indonesia, to meet agenda and to benefit the country.
Entering its 10th year on April 14, 2024, ID COMM has become an active player that helps shape Indonesia’s communication and public relations industry.
Sari and Asti complement each other and face various challenges together; from shaping the company’s vision, designing future plans, to taking leadership in the company’s daily operational activities, as well as contributing to the public relations industry by setting good practices.
Creating Unique Values
Both of them strive to maintain the company’s uniqueness as a boutique firm that offers a more personalized, innovative approach, and adds value to their clients.
“Business must have unique characteristics and added value, and we base ourselves on this thought. With a more personalized approach, we design appropriate strategies and offer solutions to address the goals of our clients effectively. It is not just about producing results, but beyond that, we aim to build strong relationships in a sustainable ecosystem with our clients,” Sari, who currently serves as the Chairperson of the Association of Indonesian Public Relations Companies (APPRI), described.
“Through a combination of strong strategic communication skills, good understanding of the client’s needs, and a commitment to providing the best service, ID COMM establishes itself as a preferred partner for various entities seeking a personalized approach and effective solutions,” added Sari.
Growing Local Talents and Collaborations
ID COMM started its operations with the support of three employees occupying a modest space in the STC Jakarta office building.
Today, as the firm is celebrating a decade after its establishment, it has transformed into a platform for developing local talents while laying a solid foundation for public relations and communication professionalism, which are instrumental for various strategic initiatives in Indonesia.
ID COMM has been nurturing tens of communication and public relations professionals specializing in public affairs and communications for development, corporate affairs, and marketing communication – as seen today.
Despite challenges, the two partners always look into motivations to move forward and to reach higher, and they inspire the team to be a unified driving force. Their openness to collaborate with various counterparts and the courage to try new approaches have been consistently demonstrated throughout the years as the formula of success.
Next Milestone
This year’s celebration also marks the beginning of ID COMM’s next vision – to become a more responsible firm that is continuously innovating through strategic partnerships, and exploring opportunities to expand its reach to a greater network globally.
With the evolution of digital technology, they believe that the demand for communication services will continue to expand. Alongside a growing and more robust team, they are prepared to face new challenges with unwavering enthusiasm. “It is important for us to keep our agility like a start-up company so that the spirit of innovation and perseverance remains intact. In our view, ID COMM shall not only be one of the leading communication firms, but also acknowledged as an agent of change that brings benefits to the Indonesian society and environment,” stated Asti.
The two ladies have also learned about tackling various crises, and the COVID-19 pandemic has evidently taught them well to survive. “In critical times, we prioritize transparency, adhere to effective communication, and act swiftly yet wisely. These are moments where traits such as risk-taking, courage, teamwork, and trust are fundamental,” explained Asti. Learning from these past experiences, ID COMM strengthens its resilience to endure the course of time.

Sari and Asti believe that by upholding integrity and decent values, ID COMM can overcome challenges ahead. In commemorating a decade anniversary of the company this year, Sari and Asti also reflect on the importance of family support in realizing their dreams and to continue building ID COMM.
